Dónde: Sala Seminario 1. Edificio de las Encinas
Descripción: Por Marco Barbieri, Universidad de Liubliana.
Abstract: Babai's Diameter Conjecture is among the most intriguing problem in the theory of finite simple groups: it asks whether every generating set of a nonabelian finite simple group G generates the group rapidly - specifically, in at most O(log(G)O(1) ) steps. After briefly reviewing what is known and what remains open for groups, we will focus on finite simple Lie algebras.
